After High School I ended up getting married and having two children. After my divorce I got a job waitressing until I could break into Corporate America. I ran the customer service department at Sara Lee Bakery in Deerfield, and Rand McNally in Skokie. I went on to work as assistant to the vice president of speech for a therapy Staffing Company, support staff for a custom builder, and office manager for a physical therapy company with multiple locations. Before retiring a few years ago I started my own business. I love working with people and sharing knowledge.

hi:   Sorry I wont be able to attend, i was back in Illinois in May and could not make a 2nd trip.
I cannot believe how many people will be there - have fun.  I live in Scottsdale Arizona  and have for 13 years full time -- prior to that we had a 2nd home here for 10 years   FInally got sick of cold weather and made the move.  I still work for a power transmission company in Wheeling, Illinois - I have been there 36 years and hope to work a few more.   I have been married for 46 years. We have lived in Illinois, Indiana, Connecticut and finally Arizona -- we do not have children - just a spoiled poodle.

I'm so happy to reconnect with everyone!

I received my BS in Psychology from University of Illinois in 1971, and my MS in Industrial Relations from Loyola night school in 1979.  After working in HR, I moved into Sales.  The majority of my career was in Relationship Management in the credit card industry, working with clients who were national retailers and restaurant chains.  I happily retired in 2013.

I lived in Lincoln Park in Chicago for 20 years, then moved back to Highland Park for another 20 years.  I've been living in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin since 2010, after coming up for weekends since 1981.

I've been happily married to Jerry since 1983.  We have no children.

Life gets better each year!

I spent 23 years in the U.S. Air Force. The majority of my time was spent dealing with classified and cryptographic information. I spent time in Greenland, Iceland, 8 yrs in Germany and several stateside assignments. While stationed at NORAD, I carried the keys to authorize the release of nuclear weapons or scramble aircraft. I retired in 1990 where I was advisor to the Tennessee Air National Guard, for 5 years in Nashville, TN. After retirement I did a little bit of everything from selling windows, doors and siding to insurance and cars. My last couple jobs, I was district manager for a furniture company and I was a branch manager for a loan company. Now I am retired and enjoying grandkids from Virginia, Missouri and Bangkok, Thailand. My wife and I retired to Florida about 3 years ago and love the beach and relaxation.

Doug and I have been married for 42 years and have 2 daughters, Sari & Krista. We have lived in Texas for 35+ years and love our current home in Austin, where we spend October thru May. The remainder of the year we are at our Lake Tahoe home in Incline Village. Doug enjoys playing golf and I love my hiking group - Tahoe is so beautiful and it's a great way to stay in shape. We love spending time with our 7 grandchildren -- 5 of them live in Austin and 2 in Memphis, TN. We are extremely blessed...Life is Good.

The time since high school has been filled with family, work, military, and education. My wife, Mary, and I have two adult children who live out West. We both grew up in Highland Park and have continued to live in Lake County.

After graduating from college, I joined the Marine Corps Reserve. When I returned from active duty, I went back to school to study information technology. My career started upon completion of the program and throughout my career I continued going to school part-time culminating in a doctorate degree. After retiring as CIO of Lake County, most of my time is spent on projects around the house, traveling to visit our kids, and volunteering at church.

I'm extraordinarily grateful to have arrived at this point in life with my loving partner of 42 years and my two remarkable sons as my best friends.  I feel fortunate to have had the opportunity to be a full-time mother, and to spend some interstitial time as a reading specialist, children's bookseller, and writer.  I lived on the east coast for many years, but raised my kids in Evanston.  Two years ago, our family moved to Marin County in California. Mountains!  Who knew?  I'm proud to be a member of the generation that struggled for civil rights and an end to the war in Viet Nam.  Looks like it's time to drag our old asses out into the streets again, folks!

Dead teeth, broken fingers, separated shoulder and blown out knee proved that I was too small for collegiate football at the University of Arizona; but I damn well tried!  I had to return to Arizona State University (the OTHER school) to obtain a BS ENG Construction Management in '78.  Spent half my career working for heavy general contractors and half as a CM consultant for casinos and hotels working for TynanGroup, Inc.  John Tynan, DHS class of '71 is President and played right defensive half back for Paul Adams, as I did, for the Warriors!.  One Chicago connection was my pleasure to manage the construction of the Cubs Hohokam Fields and the White Sox Kino Sports Complex spring training faciities in Arizona.
Married for a third time (3's a charm); Worked as far away as Uruguay and have been to China 8 times.  I own an antique airplane and am a 9 month throat cancer survivor looking forward to seeing everyone and enjoy their stories.  Life is GREAT!

Comment:
Dear Classmates,
Life has been good to me. I have been blessed with a loving wife, Arlene, two children, Sharon and Ari, and six grandchildren.

I had an excellent education at Deerfield High School and the University of Illinois. I remember Harold Benson in eight grade playing with something new – he called it a “computer.” It prepared me as an electrical engineer. I worked for Motorola, Northrop-Grumman, and Beltone. As I am slowing down I now work part time at Menards.  My kids are older than my current boss – sweet.

My game is football.  The peak of my career was playing fullback for the Mighty Midgets in eighth grade.  For the past 30 years I have been playing touch football from September through March – though at a slower and slower pace.  Chicago winters are great for equalizing speed against younger competition.

I made good friends at Red Oak.  Good people, kind people – and very smart! I wonder what happened to Harriet Kang?

I owe my faith to my parents and grandparents.  My parents fled Vienna, Austria to make a better life for themselves and their children – they succeeded. I am proud that my son Ari is a rabbi.
