Robert Goulka,
Class of 1966

In 8th grade Joanne and I went by train down to an International Trade Show at McKormick Place. We felt we were pretty grown up and enjoyed sampling many different kinds of ethnic foods. When we got to a booth where they had samples of coffee from somewhere in South America, we decided to try it. It was served in very small cups so we drank it quickly in one unforgettable swig. Yikes! It was hot, strong and quite bitter. It took our breath away and to this day I do not drink coffee.
