Laurie seemed like someone I had known practically all my life; from West Ridge School, Red Oak and DHS; and into this modern era of get-togethers and reunions. She was my favorite partner in junior high dance class at Red Oak, both of us being shorties from Sumac Road. In later years, I would jokingly express concern about the current condition of her toes, knowing that with my two left feet I had most likely stepped on them any number of times while dancing decades earlier. She claimed to have no memory of my klutziness, but I suspected that she was just being polite, considerate and with a positive outlook, as always. We will all miss her very much.
